Our mission is to inspire and engage middle school youth through space exploration STEM programming

NASA has given a $750,000 grant to local nonprofit WEX Foundation for a STEM program called New Worlds Await You — National STEM Challenges for Student Space Exploration.

The New Worlds Await You program will feature a national network of after-school clubs that focus on science, technology, engineering and math in space exploration and architecture activities for middle school students.

NASA has awarded almost $10 million in grants to informal education organizations in seven states to help inspire the next generation of scientists and explorers.

Nine proposals were selected from 73 applications through a peer reviewed process for NASA’s Competitive Program for Science Museums, Planetariums and NASA Visitor Centers Plus Other Opportunities.

The New Worlds Await You program uses our partner organization, Communities In Schools (CIS) national network, active in 25 states with 133 CIS affiliates serving at-risk students in over 363 school districts and 2,300 K-12 sites as the venue for student participation in the Launchpad and Space Clubs program model.
